KOWR meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan
12.12.2025
The possibilities of further development of economic cooperation between Poland and Uzbekistan were the main topic of the meeting between Lucjan Zwolak and Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev, the KOWR Deputy Director General and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Poland, respectively, which took place at KOWR on 12th December 2025.
The event was also attended by Mirzokhid Alikulov, Head of the Trade and Economic Cooperation Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Piotr Kondraciuk, Director of the Export Support Department at KOWR.
The topics discussed during the meeting were related to discussions undertaken during the visit to Tashkent of a delegation from Poland, led by Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski, earlier in November. The official delegation included Henryk Smolarz, KOWR Director General, and one of the parts of the trip was a mission of Polish entrepreneurs from the agri-food industry, organised by KOWR.
During Friday's meeting, the results of the mission to Uzbekistan were positively assessed and opportunities for strengthening cooperation with the Uzbek side were discussed, particularly in the area of establishing logistics hubs. The Uzbek side also presented an attractive offer from the Uzbek labour market, which offers employment opportunities in Poland for specialised workers in the agricultural sector.
In 2024, Polish agri-food exports to Uzbekistan amounted to €72 million. At the same time, the value of agri-food imports reached €10 million, translating into a positive trade balance with that country. In 2024, we mainly exported confectionery, meat and poultry offal, processed vegetables, sugar syrups, pet food, and apples.
