KOWR returns to SIAL Canada

30.04.2026

For the first time since 2018, KOWR is organizing a national pavilion at SIAL Canada, the largest food industry trade show in Canada. This year's event will take place April 29-May 1 in Montreal. Canada is currently the second-largest export destination for Polish agri-food products in the Americas, after the U.S.

Under the banner “Poland tastes good,” 10 entrepreneurs from Poland are promoting their products in Montreal. Visitors to the Canadian trade fair can find leading Polish brands and producers of products such as caviar, fish products, frozen turkey meat and deli meats, NFC juices, freeze-dried fruits and vegetables, pretzels and salty snacks, rice and corn crackers, cereal and breakfast products, pralines, chocolate-covered plums, cookies, fudge, and other sweets, as well as semi-finished products for the dairy and confectionery industries.

Jan Szopiński, KOWR Deputy Director General, and Izabela Fabjańska-Potapczuk, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Montreal, attended the grand opening of the Polish stand.

SIAL Canada is the most important food industry exhibition in Canada, attracting over 1,000 exhibitors from 44 countries and more than 21,000 visitors from Canada, the U.S., and 77 other countries around the world. SIAL Canada is an excellent venue for meeting potential business partners from Canada, all of North America, and the Americas. The trade show brings together a comprehensive range of food products under one roof, attracting visitors seeking new, innovative products for the Canadian market as well as offerings that are competitive in both price and quality.

Agri-food exports from Poland to Canada are steadily increasing, supported by CETA (the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the European Union and Canada), which eliminated tariffs on over 90% of agri-food products. Thanks to CETA, which temporarily entered into force on September 21, 2017, European (including Polish) businesses can introduce their products to the Canadian market under preferential terms. In 2025, exports of Polish agri-food products to Canada reached a record 143 million EUR, doubling in value over the past 10 years (in 2015, exports amounted to 72 million EUR).
