New Record for Polish Food Exports
17.02.2026
In 2025, the value of agri-food exports reached a record high of 58.4 billion EUR, or 248 billion PLN, an increase of 8.6% over the previous year. At the same time, imports of agri-food products totaled 38.6 billion EUR (164 billion PLN), up 7.8% from 2024. The trade surplus increased by 10.2% to 19.8 billion EUR, or 84 billion PLN.
The increase in the value of Polish agri-food exports in 2025 was due, among other factors, to higher average food prices on the international market compared to 2024, which was reflected in the transaction prices obtained by domestic exporters.
Poland’s continued strong position in supply chains and the recovering consumer demand in the European Union market played a significant role in the growth of food sales revenue. Food exports from Poland to non-EU markets also increased. However, due to the appreciation of the Polish zloty against the U.S. dollar—which is unfavorable for exports—this growth was limited to +3%.
In 2025, agri-food products worth 43.9 billion EUR (186 billion PLN) were sold on the EU market—a 10% increase in value compared to 2024. The European Union’s share of Polish exports was 75%. The largest recipients of products from Poland were: Germany—€14.8 billion (25% of exports), France—€4 billion, and the Netherlands—€3.4 billion.
Agricultural and food products worth 14.5 billion EUR were exported to non-EU countries—a 3% increase in export value. The share of non-EU countries in the geographic breakdown of Polish agricultural and food exports was 25%.
As in previous years, the main recipients of agri-food products exported from Poland to third countries included: the United Kingdom—with revenues of 4.4 billion EUR, Ukraine—1.2 billion EUR, and the United States—838 million EUR.
In 2025, the main exports to EU countries were: tobacco and tobacco products (worth 4.9 billion EUR, up 3% from 2024), poultry meat (4.2 billion EUR, up 26%), cigarettes (€3.9 billion, a 9% increase), fish and fish products (€2.9 billion, a 7% increase), dairy products (€2.8 billion, a 12% increase), beef (€2.7 billion, up 37%), chocolate and chocolate products (€2.5 billion, up 21%), and bread and baked goods (€2.4 billion, up 5%).
Poland’s main exports to non-EU countries were: meat and meat products other than poultry (1.6 billion EUR, up 8%), poultry meat (1.1 billion EUR, down 2%), dairy products (1.1 billion EUR, up 6%), chocolate and chocolate products (1.0 billion EUR, up 10%), bread and baked goods (EUR 975 million, up 4%), tobacco and tobacco products (EUR 876 million, up 8%), and animal feed (EUR 680 million, up 16%).
