17.01.2026

On 16th January 2026, the 100th jubilee edition of the international food, agriculture, and horticulture trade fair Grüne Woche (Green Week) began in Berlin. KOWR once again hosted a national stand, covering this year with a record-breaking 749 sqm of area. Eight Marshal's Offices exhibited alongside KOWR under the slogan "Polen schmeckt” (Poland tastes good). Berliners and other visitors flocking to the fair had the opportunity to explore regional delicacies and products from Lower Silesia, Kuyavia and Pomerania, Lubusz Voivodeship, Łódź Province, Mazovia, Pomerania, Greater Poland, and Western Pomerania.

Over the course of 10 days, as the fair lasts until Sunday 25th January, over 80 Polish entrepreneurs will showcase their best products from their individual regions, presenting to German consumers a wide variety of Polish food and beverages, including: fish and fish products (sprats, herring, cod liver, paprikash), cold cuts, dairy products, pierogi, mushroom preserves, honey and bee products, dried fruit and vegetables, plums and other fruits in chocolate, jams, juices, spelt and acorn coffee, regional beers, wines and liqueurs.

The Polish stand was officially opened on January 16th by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development: Minister Stefan Krajewski and Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak, Jan Tombiński, as well as Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin, along with KOWR Deputy Directors General: Lucjan Zwolak and Leszek Iwaniuk, and Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Meyer. At the national stand, Minister Krajewski hosted Alois Rainer, German Minister of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, Christophe Hansen, EU Commissioner for Agriculture, and Kai Wegner, Mayor of Berlin. Representatives of both the Ministry and KOWR are to hold numerous bilateral talks at the Polish stand and on the fairgrounds with agriculture ministers from EU and third countries participating in the World Summit of Agriculture Ministers accompanying the fair.

Each day of the fair, the national stand hosts culinary presentations and tastings led by Polish chefs, organised by KOWR and individual regions alike, introducing visitors to flagship dishes and diversity of Polish cuisine. An additional attraction at the Polish stand during the first weekend of the fair is the presence of representatives of the Farmer’s Wives’ Association “Wygodni Zakociacy” from Zakocie in Mazovia – the finalists of the 10th National Culinary Competition “The Battle of the Regions” in 2025.

Held at Messe Berlin since 1926, Green Week has been a popular event for Berliners and visitors from outside the German capital. It provides an excellent opportunity, especially for small businesses, to present regional and niche food products directly to consumers. The event promotes local products and regional specialties from various countries.

Poland definitely tastes good at the 100th edition of Grüne Woche!
