Poland Tastes Good for the first time in Nigeria at F&B West Africa
10.06.2026
Under the leadership of KOWR Director General Henryk Smolarz, Poland is presenting its offerings for the first time at the Food & Beverage West Africa trade fair in Nigeria. The visit and participation in the event underscore the commitment of the National Support Center for Agriculture to developing Polish food exports and building trade relations in the promising West African market.
Polish food offerings at the trade fair in Nigeria
From June 9-11, 2026, KOWR is organizing its first national stand in Lagos at the largest food industry trade fair in Nigeria – Food & Beverage West Africa. The trade fair is an excellent opportunity for companies open to the challenges of the African market to establish new business contacts with potential partners not only from Nigeria but also from the entire region, including Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Senegal, Cameroon, and Kenya.
The Polish delegation is led by Henryk Smolarz, Director General of the KOWR, who on June 9th of this year welcomed Patryk Zając, representative of the Polish Embassy in Abuja, at the national stand.
Searching for partners
During this year's 7th edition of the Food & Beverage West Africa trade fair, seven food industry entrepreneurs will present their products at the stand organized by the KOWR under the banner "Poland Tastes Good." Polish companies are seeking importers and distributors in Lagos for the Nigerian market for products such as dairy products, milk powders, cookies, chocolate and other sweets, flours and bakery and confectionery mixes, spices and sauces, energy drinks, and semi-finished products for the dairy and confectionery industries.
On the eve of the fair, thanks to the efforts of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), business talks between Polish companies and potential Nigerian partners were organized at the PAIH Foreign Trade Office in Lagos.
Nigeria – a market with tremendous potential
Nigeria is Africa's largest economy and the continent's most populous country, with over 200 million inhabitants. Lagos, home to over 20 million people, is the business and financial center not only of Nigeria but also of all of West Africa. The Nigerian economy is based on the mining industry, with 90% of the state's revenue coming from oil sales. The government is striving for economic diversification through the development of agriculture, industry, manufacturing, and services. Construction, telecommunications, and e-commerce are also gaining importance.
Last year's Food & Beverage West Africa attracted over 350 exhibitors from 63 countries, and the number of visitors reached over 6,500. The Lagos fair is a key meeting place for producers, distributors, importers and representatives of the HoReCa sector from Nigeria and other countries in the region.
