Poland's National Stand at the Africa Food Show 2026 in South Africa
11.06.2026
On June 10, 2026, the three-day Africa Food Show began in Cape Town, where KOWR is hosting the Polish national stand, Poland Tastes Good, for the second time. The event is a continuation of the Africa's Big 7 trade show previously held in Johannesburg, in which KOWR participated from 2016 to 2018.
A wide range of Polish exhibitors
Six entrepreneurs seeking importers and distributors for their products in South Africa are exhibiting at the KOWR stand. Under the banner of "Poland Tastes Good," Cape Town promotes products such as sweets and chocolate products, pasta, frozen vegetables, beef, collagen drinks, protein powders, protein sweets, and dietary supplements.
The Africa Food Show focuses on connecting global suppliers with South African buyers, wholesalers, and distributors, facilitating expansion in one of the fastest-growing food markets in the world.
South Africa's high potential
South Africa is one of the most developed and diverse countries in Africa. Its developed industry and financial sector, modern infrastructure, abundant natural resources, and a population of approximately 63 million make the country a regional economic hub and one of the most attractive places to establish a presence and build business relationships on the African continent.
The South African market is dominated by large corporations. In retail, these include large chains such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, and Spar Group. The retail market is segmented by consumer income. Retail chains operate from the mass to the premium segment; therefore, their offerings must be tailored to the needs of their customers and positioned appropriately.
On June 9th, the day before the trade fair, Polish exhibitors visited the stores of the following South African retail chains: Boxer, Pick n Pay, and Checkers. The store check was organized in cooperation with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) Foreign Trade Office in Johannesburg.
