Polish Arabians triumph at Prague Intercup 2026

As many as 36 Polish-bred horses competed at the Prague Intercup in the Czech capital. The result? Numerous medals, special awards, and the prestigious title of Best European Breeder for Michałów Stud, confirming its place among the European elite.
The Prague Intercup, one of Europe's most important Arabian horse shows, took place in Prague on August 22-23. Polish-bred horses were also present. For many, it was an important test before the most important international championships. The Michałów Stud Farm achieved the greatest success, winning the title of Best European Breeder.
From Poland to Europe
The Polish show season has ended. This year, it included the Junior Spring Show in Białka, the All-Polish Arabian Horse Championship in Tarnów, and the Polish National Purebred Arabian Horse Show in Janów Podlaski.
However, the European season is still ongoing, having begun in May and ending in October. During this time, Polish-bred horses participate in shows in many countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. Polish breeders regularly participate in such events as the Eurozone Cup in Deurne, the International Days for Arabian Horses in Ströhen, the Bruges Arabian Horse Event, and the Prague Intercup. These events are crucial preparation for the horses' most important events of the season: the Nations Cup, the European Championships, and the World Championships.
Polish Horses Among the Best
Nearly 80 horses were presented at the Prague Intercup, 36 of which were bred in Poland. The classes for 2-year-old mares and 4- to 6-year-old mares were particularly well-stocked. Polish horses performed remarkably well, with 25 of them qualifying for the championships.
Michałów Stud, one of two state-owned Arabian horse stud farms supervised by the National Support Center for Agriculture, brought 10 horses to Prague. Nine of them advanced to the championships and won eight medals in total. Michałów won five medals in the European Cup, intended for European-bred horses, and three medals in the international Intercup.
Among the champions were Epiforana and Ptolemeusz – gold medalists in the Junior Mares Championship and Senior Stallions Championship respectively at this year's Polish Nationals. Polish-bred horses won 16 of the 36 medals awarded at the Prague Intercup.

The show concluded with the special awards ceremony. Michałów Stud received the title of Best European Breeder. Previously, Michałów Stud had won half of the medals for Poland in the championships. Furthermore, both Best Movement Awards were presented to Polish horses: Wildonara from Michałów Stud, and Agadez (Magic Magnifique – Adelita / Kahil Al Shaqab), bred by Janów Podlaski Stud and owned by Karol Makowski.
