Polish food in the Asian market

Since 2018, the National Support Center for Agriculture has been organizing a Polish national booth at the Seoul Food & Hotel in South Korea under the banner "Poland Tastes Good." During this year's edition, taking place from June 9-12, 2026, 19 entrepreneurs will be promoting Polish food and beverages at the national booth.

Polish companies are presenting a wide range of Polish food products to potential customers from Korea and other Asian countries under the banner "Poland Tastes Good." The KOWR booth is promoting products such as sweets (cookies, fudge, rolls, pralines, chocolates, jellies, and halva), savory snacks, milk and dairy products, milk powders, cold cuts and processed meats, poultry, NFC and organic juices, freeze-dried fruits and vegetables, honey with freeze-dried fruit, sturgeon caviar and fish products, groats and cereal products, cereal and chicory- and herb-based drinks, sports drinks and snacks, and semi-finished products for the food industry.

Official visits and institutional support

Tomasz Ciodyk, Deputy General Director of the KOWR, spoke with Polish entrepreneurs present at the booth. On the first day of the fair, the national stand was also visited by representatives of the Polish Embassy in Seoul, including Ambassador Bartosz Wiśniewski and Karolina Florek, Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer.

The Seoul Food & Hotel Korea Fair is the largest and most important event for the food and hospitality industry in South Korea. Polish entrepreneurs and industry organizations have been participating in the Seoul fair as exhibitors for years. The strong presence of Polish food products at this fair demonstrates the considerable interest of Polish companies in entering the Korean market.

Polish accents in Korea

Polish accents are also prominent at several other stands at the Seoul fair. Industry organizations are promoting food on the Korean market at stands as part of the CAP program "Support for promotional and information activities in the markets of selected agricultural products":

  • "Drop of Excellence. High-quality European milk and dairy products" – a three-year program implemented by the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Producers from April 2025 in the markets of South Korea and Vietnam, promoting milk and dairy products, including cheese;
  • "European Poultry – From Our Farms to Your Table" – a three-year program implemented by the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce from February 2025 in the markets of the Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam, promoting poultry meat (fresh, chilled, and frozen) and poultry products;
  • "EU Good Food – Good Life" is a three-year, multi-agency program implemented by the Union of Producers and Employers of the Meat Industry in cooperation with Greek producers, starting in March 2025. It promotes pork, beef, canned peaches, and fresh kiwis in the Philippine, South Korean, and Vietnamese markets.

Due to its lack of agricultural land, Korea is a significant importer of food, primarily meat (pork and beef), grains, fish and seafood, and various processed foods. Trade with South Korea is facilitated by the Korea-EU free trade agreement, which eliminates most customs duties, including on agricultural products. Seoul Food & Hotel is an excellent platform for Korean importers and distributors to explore premium food from around the world and discover new products in the food industry, while it provides Polish companies with an opportunity to showcase our wide range of products at attractive prices and quality.
