Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's visit to Davos was also an opportunity for numerous meetings with the heads of major companies – such as Google and Intel.

This year's edition of the event is held in the shadow of Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine. The Prime Minister began his visit to Switzerland with the official opening of the Polish House. For the third time, it will become a place of meetings and dialogue, among others, for national and international experts. Visitors participating in the discussions held at the Polish House will explore issues related to our culture and economy. Apart from domestic matters, topics related to current global challenges - such as the diversification of energy supplies or humanitarian aid for refugees from Ukraine - will also be high on the agenda.

It was attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. 19.05.2022Prime Minister: we will do anything to help farmers in these difficult times to transform the Polish countryside into a successful placeWe support Polish farmers when they need it. We have demonstrated this during challenging moments, such as droughts or the COVID-19 pandemic. Even now, when the world is battling inflation and war is raging across our eastern border, we are offering solutions that will benefit the Polish countryside. Farmers can rely on subsidies for fertilisers. This will help all Poles, who will pay less for food. However, this is not the only positive change in recent times. We have introduced higher subsidies for agricultural fuel and are currently amending agricultural pensions, as well as implementing subsidies exceeding the EU average for Polish farmers. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki spoke about the government's measures targeting farms. The head of government visited a farm located in the Wyszków district. During the visit, he emphasised that the government will do anything to help farmers transform the Polish countryside into a successful place.

It is true that diplomacy requires dialogue, but one does not negotiate with terrorists. Criminals must be judged, and the Russian World ideology must be defeated and eliminated,” assessed the Prime Minister.

18.05.2022Prime Minister during the Foster Care Gala: “You are superheroes who fight against distrust, traumas and fears – and win”The Lesser Poland Congress for Family Fostering has ended in Wieliczka. The event provided an excellent forum for discussion between representatives of the Government, local governments, non-government organisations and foster families. The Congress ended with the Foster Care Gala, which was attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The Head of the Government emphasised the great role played by foster families and carers in family-type children's homes in the lives of children and young people. The Prime Minister thanked them for their kindness, for their everyday struggles and for giving young people a chance for a better life.

17.05.2022Senior citizens can count on the Government’s support. In 2022, we will pay out the 14th pensionWe care about our senior citizens. We are implementing a number of effective solutions that make their everyday lives better. These include the 13th and 14th pensions, a tax-free pension of up to PLN 2,500, and, as of 1 July, another reduction in PIT rate - down to 12 per cent. This is actual support and more money in the household budgets of all senior citizens. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the municipality of Świercze in the Mazowieckie voivodeship. The Head of the Government, during a meeting at the Senior+ Club, stressed that the Government will keep on working to improve pension rates in Poland. He also added that this is the time for the state, which generates new revenues, to be able to allocate them to support those who need it most.

16.05.2022Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with US Treasury Secretary Janet YellenThe head of the Polish government spoke with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. The talks concerned, among other things, the tightening of sanctions against Russia and the strengthening of NATO. The meeting is part of intensive Polish-US diplomatic contacts taking place in recent weeks. Our common objective is to coordinate an international response to Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. It is also a demonstration of commitment to European security and the strengthening of transatlantic ties.
