Poland in Sweden

On the occasion of All Saints' Day, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm took part in a series of events commemorating Polish heroes, veterans, and distinguished compatriots resting on Swedish soil.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sweden, Ms. Karolina Ostrzyniewska, visited Gothenburg, meeting with representatives of regional and local authorities, academic institutions, and business leaders.

On 24 October 2025, Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek, accompanied by Deputy Minister Dariusz Mazur, took part in a seminar organised by International IDEA, dedicated to the topic of the rule of law.

On 18 October 2025, Polish language teachers in Sweden and high school students from the Polish School of Katarzyna Jagiellonka in Stockholm gathered at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm for a joint reading of works by Jan Kochanowski, this year's patron of the National Reading.

On 14-15 October 2025, a Conference on Psychological Defence was held in Lund, organised by Lund University and the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency. Among the speakers was Ms. Katarzyna Szaran, Director of the Department of Strategic Communication at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A conference dedicated to the development of nuclear energy in the Baltic Sea region was held in Stockholm, with the political level represented by the ministers of energy from Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Poland. The event also gathered representatives from across the entire nuclear energy value chain - investors, banks, technology suppliers, operators, and owners of nuclear assets.

On the occasion of the Railway Day (Museibanans dag) and the end of the season, which this year took place on 27 September, Consul of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Szmidtke - accompanied by Defense Attaché Colonel Rafał Grzegorkiewicz, Vice Consul Andrzej Jach, representatives of the Swedish Polish community, and members of the Swedish-Polish Society (Svensk-Polska Samfundet) - laid flowers at the commemorative monument at the Marielund railway station.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sweden, Mrs. Karolina Ostrzyniewska, visited Karlskrona, where she opened the business conference Poland - Southern Sweden Matchmaking Event. The event was dedicated to the development of Polish-Swedish economic and technological cooperation as well as security in the Baltic Sea region.

On 6 October 2025, at TeaterTre in Stockholm, following the conclusion of the 44th Poetry Salon, a ceremony was held to present state decorations awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The "Meritorious for Polish Culture Gloria Artis” medals were awarded to Ms. Małgorzata Kwiecińska-Järvenson and Ms. Danuta Rechowicz - long-time co-creators of the Poetry Salon and promoters of Polish literature in Sweden.

A working breakfast dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the priorities of Poland's Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) gathered representatives of member states, observers, and the Director General of the CBSS Permanent Secretariat.
