Poland in Tanzania

On the occasion of the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, in cooperation with the newly opened Embassy of Ukraine in Tanzania, organized a screening of the documentary film “In the Rearview”, directed by Maciek Hamela. The event was primarily attended by members of the diplomatic corps and the local community interested in the current situation in Ukraine.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and the 20th International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, in cooperation with the Dar es Salaam University College of Education, organized a screening of the documentary Ambassador of Memory, directed by Magdalena Żelasko.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam was a key partner of the EU Youth Debate Contest project initiated by the EU Delegation in Dar es Salaam, the final of which took place last Friday, January 31, 2025. The winners of the competition were students of two Tanzanian universities: the University of Dar es Salaam and Tumaini University.

Chargée d'affaires a.i. at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam Katarzyna Sobiecka spoke to ‘The Chanzo’ on Polish-Tanzanian relations and our involvement in the EU Youth Debate Contest. Thanks to the funds of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam the three top winners of EU Youth Debate Contest will visit Poland this year!

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam kindly informs that the consular fees have been updated as of 1 January 2025.

The cemetery in Kondoa was the last Polish burial site in Tanzania requiring comprehensive restoration.

The visit of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Poland Jakub Wiśniewski to Tanzania on December 11-12, 2024, allowed for an exchange of views with representatives of the Tanzanian authorities on the possibilities of development, investment and trade cooperation between Poland and Tanzania. It was also an opportunity to meet the beneficiaries of development projects implemented in Dar es Salaam with Polish Aid funds.

The first Partnership Dialogue between the United Republic of Tanzania and the European Union under the Samoa Agreement took place on 10th December 2024 in Dar es Salaam.
