The safety of Polish energy and raw materials in the era of European Green Deal and Polish New Deal was the theme of the “Sląski Ład” (“Śląsk New Deal”) conference held on 12 July 2021, attended by the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Guibourgé-Czetwertyński.

Financing technology and fuels required in energy engineering and climate transformation, development plans for the use of hydrogen in the context of European Union and national strategies, the review of Trans European Energy Networks (TEN-E) were the key issues discussed by the Deputy Ministers for Energy from Poland, Czech Republic Hungary and Slovakia, held on 16 June 2021 as part of the Polish presidency in the Visegrad Group.

Transatlantic cooperation in the field of energy transformation and economic recovery following the COVID-19 crisis is the main topic of the discussions at the 6th Annual Central and Eastern European Energy Security Conference, co-organised by the Atlantic Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The event held on 10 June 2021 was attended by Michał Kurtyka, Minister of Climate and Environment, as well as, among others, Piotr Naimski, Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure.

“In order to transform the energy system by 2050, we need to involve all available technologies. Nuclear energy will play a key role in our transition to a climate-neutral economy,” said Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński, on 14 June 2021, during the annual Foratom conference organised under the slogan: Nuclear Europe 2021: Nuclear at crossroads: Where to next?

It is safe, environmentally friendly and, above all, necessary – green transport improves the quality of life in rural regions. Thanks to the support of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, amounting to almost 40 million Polish zlotys from the Kangur programme, electric buses will be used to transport children to schools in the next 16 municipalities. Agreements have been signed on this issue on 16 June 2021.

Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński took part in the meeting of the EU Environment Council held in Luxembourg on 10 June 2021. The topics discussed included the building of a climate-resilient Europe – the new EU strategy for adapting to climate change.

Raising pro-environment awareness among children through the provision of training courses in nature and carrying out activities aimed at protection of the environment are the main objectives of the Forest School with Climate programme. Its inauguration took place on 10 June 2021 in the Celestynów Forest District during a conference with Michał Kurtyka – Minister of Climate and Environment, Przemysław Czarnek – Minister of Education and Science, Edward Siarka – Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, as well as the acting General Director of State Forests, Józef Kubica.
