Visiting London today, Poland’s top diplomat delivered an address during a Defence Conference hosted by King’s College. The event focused on capacity building to tackle global threats. Also, Minister Sikorski met with his British counterpart, David Cameron. The meeting’s agenda included cooperation between Poland and the UK, bilateral relations, preparations for the upcoming NATO summit, and support for warring Ukraine.

MFA Undersecretary of State Henryka Mościcka-Dendys met with newly appointed Polish members of the Permanent Court of Arbitration.

On 22 May, Minister Radosław Sikorski met in Weimar with his counterparts from France and Germany, Stéphane Séjourné and Annalena Baerbock, to discuss how far their declaration has been implemented since its adoption on 12 February 2024 in La Celle-Saint-Cloud and to speak about a number of current topics on the international agenda.

The EU’s General Affairs Council (GAC) decided today to establish the EU Hybrid Rapid Response Teams (HRRT). These expert teams will constitute a new EU tool that will allow an effective response to emerging threats.

MFA Undersecretary of State Henryka Mościcka-Dendys took part in a meeting of the Advisory Legal Committee of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Committee's session took place on 16 – 17 May, coinciding with the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe. The session included a ceremony during which Lithuania assumed the Presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, taking over from Liechtenstein which held the presidency over the last six months.

Minister Radosław Sikorski has appointed Tomasz Chłoń as his plenipotentiary for countering international disinformation.
