On Thursday 25 May, at the invitation of Minister Zbigniew Rau, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Wlachovský will come to Poland on a working visit.

On 22-23 May 2023, Undersecretary of State at the MFA Wojciech Gerwel visited the Republic of Indonesia.

On 23 May, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau took part in a trilateral summit of the chief diplomats of Poland, Spain, and Romania. The ministers met in Valencia at the invitation of the head of Spanish diplomacy.

Today’s EU foreign ministers meeting focused on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the situation in the Horn of Africa region. The ministers also held a meeting with the foreign ministers of the Western Balkan countries.

On 22 May, in Brussels, head of Polish diplomacy will attend a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC).

At the request of the Chinese side, Deputy Minister Wojciech Gerwel met Special Envoy of the Chinese Government for Eurasian Affairs, Ambassador Li Hui. The main goal of the visit of the Chinese diplomat was to consult the main partners in the European Union with regard to the Chinese position on the Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

On Poland’s initiative, an inter-regional coalition consisting of Austria, Azerbaijan, Viet Nam, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, and Kenya; the UNESCO Executive Board adopted the first, historic decision on the bicycle - "Bicycle for all - Bicycle for sustainable and healthy lifestyles". The decision has been adopted with considerable acclamation and cosponsored by several dozens of countries representing all inhabited continents.

At the initiative of the Slovak side, Minister Zbigniew Rau had a phone conversation with Miroslav Wlachovsky, the new Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

At the request of the US side, Minister Zbigniew Rau met with US Deputy Secretary of State Richard R. Verma and the accompanying representatives of the Department of State and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), including Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jose W. Fernandez. The talks focused on the development of bilateral relations and coordination of response to the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, including by providing comprehensive assistance to the Ukrainian side.
