320 Orlik sports facilities have already been renovated, 1015 are under refurbishment and 83 new ones are under construction. The Orlik infrastructure programme has accelerated across Poland. Two years after the 2023 parliamentary elections Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki summarised to-date development of the infrastructure. The press conference held at the Orlik pitch in Prażmów was attended also by Michał Kmiecik, mayor of the municipality of Prażmów and by ambassadors of the Active School programme: Szymon Marciniak, a football referee and Sławomir Szmal, a former top handball player and the current president of the Polish Handball Federation.

On Wednesday, 15 October 2025 at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki and Secretaries of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism met with medallists of the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, the Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Ronse, the Para Fencing World Championships in Iksan, the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore, coaching staff and representatives of the Polish Paralympic Committee.

Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki sent a letter to Sports Ministers of the European Union Member States, in which he criticised the decision of the International Paralympic Committee to reinstate Russia and Belarus as full members of the organisation.

On Friday, 12 September the Sejm unanimously adopted an amendment to the Act on Sport. Thanks to the new solutions, sports facilities such as sports pitches, courts, running tracks, ice rinks, outdoor gyms, skateparks, roller skating rinks and pump tracks will be exempt from noise level standards when used for sporting activities.

The Minister of Sport and Tourism has approved funding allocations under the Programme to mitigate the effects of the floods of September 2024, which aims to support tourism recovery and promotion in the affected regions.

300 Orlik sports facilities have already been refurbished under the Ministry of Sport and Tourism's Programme of My pitch - Orlik 2012 sports facilities modernisation. Further 1,042 Orlik facilities are currently undergoing refurbishment. The opening of the 300th Orlik pitch was accompanied by a press conference in Bytom, attended by Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki, Mayor of Bytom Mariusz Wołosz, Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism Piotr Borys, Senator Halina Bieda and Deputy Minister of Science Marek Gzik.

Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki, accompanied by Sławomir Szmal, President of the Polish Handball Federation and Mariusz Frankowski, Governor of Mazowieckie Voivodeship announced today, at the refurbished Orlik sports facility in Nowa Góra, the launch of a pilot Handball Academy Certification Programme and opened the registration of teams for the national tournament Handball on Orlik Pitches to be held as part of the Active School programme.

On 8 February 2024, sports ministers from 26 EU Member States, including Minister of Sport and Tourism Sławomir Nitras, signed the Declaration on the European Sport Model. The document calls on sport governing bodies and the European Commission to promote sport based on values such as democracy, transparency, integrity, gender equality and openness.

Deputy Minister Ireneusz Raś, on behalf of Minister of Sport and Tourism Sławomir Nitras, met on Monday with a delegation of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine, headed by Deputy Minister Andriy Czesnokov.

Minister of Sport and Tourism Sławomir Nitras met with Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya on Tuesday, 9 January. The main subject of the meeting was cooperation between Poland and Belarus in the field of sport.
