European Crucible 2022 - call for applications now open

23.12.2021

We announce that the call for applications to participate in European Crucible 2022 is now live. The European Crucible is a leadership and development programme for early/mid-career researchers from Scotland and Europe that offers opportunities to build new interdisciplinary research collaborations between Scotland and Europe.

European Crucible 2022

European Crucible 2022 will be run as a series of interactive virtual “Labs” held between late March and early May 2022. Participation is open to all research disciplines. Ambitious University Lecturers and Readers (i.e. Assistant and Associate Professors), Research Fellows and equivalents in Research Institutes and industry (with experience of managing their own research but wishing to take this to a higher level internationally), are encouraged to apply.

A cohort of fifty researchers, twenty-five from Scottish institutions and twenty-five from institutions across European countries, will be selected for the programme by a panel of top researchers.

Applicants from Scotland must apply by Mon, 24th January 2022, 17:00 (GMT)
Applicants from the rest of Europe must apply by Mon, 21st February 2022, 17:00 (GMT)

More information.

European Crucible 2022 (supported by Scottish Government via the SFC Saltire initiative), is organised jointly by SUPA and the Research Futures Academy at Heriot-Watt University on behalf of all Scottish Research Pools.  A short report on European Crucible 2021 is available as a Case Study on the ‘Research Innovation Scotland’ website.
