NCBR’s Office in Brussels animates debate on the European Partnerships in Horizon Europe

07.11.2022

The NCBR Office in Brussels | Business & Science Poland held an online meeting dedicated to European Partnerships under the Horizon Europe programme. The webinar was co-organized with partners from the Slovenian Business & Research Association, Eötvös Loránd University, the National Research, Development, and Innovation Office in Hungary, the Lithuanian RDI Liaison Office in Brussels (LINO) and the European Office of Cyprus in Brussels.

Webinar

European Partnerships, as key implementation tool of Horizon Europe, bring the European Commission and private and public partners together to address some of Europe’s most pressing challenges through concerted research and innovation initiatives. They are meant to contribute significantly to achieving the EU’s policy priorities.

The partnerships are one of the most important mechanisms to get industry, science and governments to cooperate and invest in strategic high tech sectors, and to bring advanced R&I solutions closer to market.

As new efforts are being made and considered by the European Commission to ensure effective synergies, both between partnerships and with other funds and programmes, the NCBR Office in Brussels invited to the webinar a representative of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (RTD), namely Dr. Mihaela Williams, and to the ensuing panel discussion, a group of stakeholders involved in the selected co-programmed partnerships coordinated by the research associations: A.SPIRE (Processes4Planet) and EFFRA (Made in Europe).

The discussion, that can watched here, was moderated by the Director of the NCBR Office in Brussels, Ewa Kocińska-Lange. The practical aspects of the cooperation and the benefits of participation in European Partnerships was addressed by: Željko Pazin, EFFRA Executive Director, Angels Orduña, A.SPIRE Executive Director, Dr. Jan Bondaruk, Deputy Chief Executive of the Central Mining Institute, Prof. Igor Kovač from Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, Dr. Elisabeth Ilie-Zudor from the Hungarian Institute for Computer Science and Control and Tomas Garuolis from the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.
