NEON

The main objective of the NEON Joint Undertaking is to support the research and development activities of the Polish refining and petrochemical industry, and it is implemented through the following specific objectives: Development of innovative technological solutions aimed at achieving the reduction of CO2 emissions and, consequently, emission neutrality; Development of solutions and technologies related to the acquisition and processing of biomass; Development of technologies related to the circular economy; The development of technologies based on artificial intelligence and, consequently, the digitization of processes.

Thematic scope

Competition I concerns the detailed objective - Development of solutions and technologies related to the acquisition and processing of biomass.

This goal is being pursued is through: the following research issues:

Issue I.1 .: Systems of biomass production and selection with the use of CO2 offset

Issue I.2: Technologies for the production of advanced biocomponents with the use of Raw Materials indicated in Annex IXA to RED II directive and projected changes to the RED III directive

Issue I.3 .: Biological and biochemical technologies of hydrogen production

Budget The allocation for the 1st call for proposals is PLN 35 million

Co-financing:

The intensity of support (value of financing) for research units other than enterprises for the implementation of works under the project is 100% of eligible costs for enterprises under public aid

Project implementation period The maximum implementation period is 48 months

Other important information about competition:

If PKN ORLEN decides to implement the Project Result in the activities of PKN ORLEN, the Contractor will be obliged to transfer their share in the joint right to the Project Result to PKN ORLEN, the price for transferring the share will be equal to the value of the Contractor's financial participation in the total amount of eligible costs (own contribution and NCBR co-financing), and in case of doubt, the marketability of the price will be confirmed by an expert. o In the event that PKN ORLEN decides not to implement the Project Results, the Contractor is obliged to implement the Results Project through: 1) introducing the Project Results to own activity by starting production or providing services on the basis of the obtained ones Project Results or 2) granting a license (on an arm's length basis) to use the Project Results for third parties, with the to grant a license to use the Project Result for third parties are PKN ORLEN and the Contractor, and the benefits obtained from rights to grant a license, shall be distributed in relation to the shares of each jointly entitled to joint rights to The Project Result or 3) sale (on an arm's length basis) of rights to the Project Results in order to introduce them to another's economic activity entrepreneurs. The obligation to introduce the Project Results into business activity does not apply to the buyer rights is PKN ORLEN.
