24 January NCBR announces the 2025 call for proposals for joint projects between scientists and entrepreneurs who wish to receive funding from Swiss Funds in the area of applied research. The on-line submission system will be opened between 25 March and 26 May. There is 14.8 million Swiss francs, which is more than 66 million Polish zloty, available for use in CALL 2025.

The final conference of the BIOBoost project, themed "The Future of the Bioeconomy," will take place on January 23 (13:00-18:00), 2025, at the NCBR Office in Brussels, located at Rue Belliard 40 (5th floor). After Russia's attack on Ukraine, everything changed for Ukrainian scientists. Without the help of the international community, continuing research would have largely been impossible. The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) began its efforts in 2022, which is one example of such solidarity. The programme, called the “Scheme: Support for Ukrainian researchers” aims to build human capital and foster cooperation with the Ukrainian academic community. It was launched under the EEA and Norway Grants. How effective has it been? We asked its participants. Development of an alternative technology related to antibiotics that can significantly contribute to solving the antibiotic resistance crisis. Interesting results, some of which are already in print. Two patent applications and doctoral thesis material. Continuation of cooperation with partners in Norway. Specific plans for the future. These are the direct outcomes of only one of the projects submitted to the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) under the ‘Applied research’ Programme. The project was implemented under the Norway Grants. Although the COVID-19 pandemic tried to thwart these plans, the innovators rose to the challenge and brought their work to completion.
