What problem does our project solve?

The number of foreigners planning to work in our country is increasing. These people want to learn the Polish language quickly. They are not interested in an educational offer spread over many months, can only afford to learn at non-standard hours and often cannot afford to pay for intensive courses. The answer to the needs of this group are 3 innovative and free of charge Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) of the Polish language as a foreign language placed on the NAVOICA platform (www.navoica.pl). The materials are designed to combine the teaching of general language with the presentation of specialist vocabulary (with maximum involvement of the participant).

As a part of the project:

  • the specialist Polish language course in transport and logistics (A2/B1),
  • the Polish language course with elements of entrepreneurship (B1),
  • the specialist Polish language course in trade and services, were developed, thus filling a gap in the market for educational materials.

Each course is based on a series of fictionalised animated films accompanied by charts presenting new vocabulary, diagrams and, obviously, exercises. The time required to complete one course is approximately 18 hours. A participant who achieves a final result of at least 60% will receive a certificate of completion.

Who will benefit from the outcomes of the project?

Activities were implemented with a view to working people learning the Polish language. The courses developed as part of the project will benefit foreigners planning to come to Poland, as well as those who are already in our country and plan to improve their language skills. Although the educational materials have been designed to support primarily self-directed learning, they also work well in the blended learning model. After creating an account and logging in to the Navoica platform, not only learners, but also teachers can access all the courses and use any elements of the packages in their daily work.
