    EUR 76 billion – this is the money that Poland will receive as part of the Partnership Agreement. As much as EUR 5 billion will go to the Silesian Voivodeship. The European funds for this region were the main topic of the Local Government Convention in Chorzów. The event was attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki who emphasised that the money received under the Partnership Agreement will be an perfect impetus and great support for further development of the Silesian Voivodeship.

    The Head of the Polish government attended a meeting with the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Change John Kerry in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The main issues discussed were matters related to the energy technology, renewable energy sources, as well as the current geopolitical events. The Russian aggression on the sovereign Ukraine has made the energy market situation unstable.

    Mateusz Morawiecki, the head of the Polish government, took part in the 79th commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Genocide. The crime was committed by Ukrainian nationalists against citizens of the Second Polish Republic. For years it was subjected to a conspiracy of silence, which is why it is so important to commemorate those events. The Prime Minister stressed that the future can only be built on the foundation of truth.

    The celebrations were attended by the head of the Polish government and took place in Giby, located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, where a monument dedicated to the victims of the roundup was erected in 1991. The Augustów Roundup was the greatest crime committed against Poles after the end of World War II, during which the Red Army troops, assisted by Polish communist collaborators, captured at least 7,000 people. The exact number of people who lost their lives in 1945 due to this event is not known. Initial estimates suggested that at least 600 people were murdered. A conclusive explanation of the Augustów crime is still pending. The Prime Minister announced that we will not rest until the graves of the roundup victims are found.

    Country Housewives’ Associations are a beautiful Polish tradition which connects the past and the present. This is why the government is providing financial aid toward achieving the statutory objectives of the Associations. This year, we decided to allocate PLN 70 million to support this activity. We are also organising events, such cooking competitions for Country Housewives’ Associations called “The Battle of Regions”. The competition organised in Myśliwiec, in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, was visited by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Based on the analyses presented, they also discussed potential coronavirus-related scenarios that could occur in the autumn.     The government has been supporting local authorities in the implementation of investment projects involving local roads. Between 2019 and 2022, we have subsidised more than 16,500 kilometres of such roads. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the Grabnik-Grabówek-Jastrząbka-Gaczyska road, the reconstruction of which was 80 per cent funded by the Government Road Construction Fund.

    Ksawerów is going to become a home to a large heating system manufacturing plant. The planned investment value is approximately PLN 1.5 billion. This will open up many job opportunities in the region. The execution of this strategic investment by Daikin in Poland was announced during the meeting in the Łódź Special Economic Zone. This is yet another example of strong cooperation with foreign investors. As the Head of the Polish government emphasised, this demonstrates the investment attractiveness and security of our country as well as how favourable the investment conditions are in Poland

    The Government recognises the need for changes in the child and adolescent mental healthcare. This why is it keeps on introducing reforms in this respect. It means, among other things, about PLN 650 million for psychological therapy and addiction centres as well as the changes in mental healthcare system. Organisational and diagnostic and therapeutic standards are in place at each level of the system. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki attended the grand opening of the modern facility, which received funds from state budget.
