Poland in Sweden

On 6 October 2025, at TeaterTre in Stockholm, following the conclusion of the 44th Poetry Salon, a ceremony was held to present state decorations awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The "Meritorious for Polish Culture Gloria Artis” medals were awarded to Ms. Małgorzata Kwiecińska-Järvenson and Ms. Danuta Rechowicz - long-time co-creators of the Poetry Salon and promoters of Polish literature in Sweden.

A working breakfast dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the priorities of Poland's Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) gathered representatives of member states, observers, and the Director General of the CBSS Permanent Secretariat.

On 23-24 September 2025, Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska took part in an off-site meeting of the Heads of Missions of EU member states and candidate countries in Lund, organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Sweden.

The Entry/Exit System (EES) is Europe's new border management system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders of 29 European countries.

On 2 September 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski presented the Lech Wałęsa Solidarity Prize in Miami. This year's prize went to Berta Soler Fernandez, a Cuban dissident and the leader of the Ladies in White opposition group.

The Swedish minister visited Poland on 26-27 August this year. Together with the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Maciej Duszczyk, he visited the Border Guard Post in Połowce. The visit was preceded by working-level consultations between the ministers in Warsaw, devoted to migration and asylum policy, including the fight against the instrumentalisation of migration. The Polish delegation also included Karolina Ostrzyniewska, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Sweden, who took part in the visit.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sweden, Mrs. Karolina Ostrzyniewska, took part in the "Unleashed” conference in Stockholm, which brought together nearly 400 key leaders from business, academia, culture, politics, and media across the Nordic-Baltic region. The event was attended by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel and was organised at the initiative of Mrs. Daniela Waldfogel and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

In the last week of June, Visby once again became the center of political and social dialogue during the annual Swedish Political Week.

At the last meeting in a series of Heads of Mission gatherings in Stockholm, held at the residence of the Polish Ambassador, we hosted Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, who presented Sweden's plans to increase defence spending and support for Ukraine before the NATO summit and European Council meeting.

The study visit of the delegation from the Self-Government of the Greater Poland Voivodeship and the Regional Centre for Social Policy in Poznań began with a meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm. The aim of the visit was to exchange experiences and strengthen Polish-Swedish cooperation in the area of senior policy. The delegation was led by Ms. Katarzyna Kretkowska, a member of the Board of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.
