The POLNORIS call has been announced. New opportunities for research and innovation

17.06.2026

Director of the National Centre for Research and Development announces the POLNORIS call for bilateral projects under the Programme "Applied research and innovation” within the European Economic Area (EEA) Grants 2021-2028.

The POLNORIS call has been announced. New opportunities for research and innovation

The main objective of the POLNORIS call is to improve the quality of scientific research in Poland and to strengthen international cooperation in the field of research and innovation. The call finances partnership projects involving Donor States, i.e. projects implemented in close cooperation with a partner from one of the Donor States - Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.

The call is not thematically restricted – it is not limited to any specific field. Both technological and social sciences and humanities application-oriented projects may be carried out. Projects must address at least one of the EEA Grans priorities (European green transition; democracy, rule of law and human rights; social inclusion and resilience).

Interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approaches will be encouraged, and projects should include activities aimed at increasing the use of research results. The call also supports the development of leadership competences among early-career researchers.

Research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects will be implemented over a period of 3 years, and will cover industrial research and experimental development.

The total call budget is EUR 70,000,000. Funding per project ranges from EUR 1,000,000 to EUR 1,750,000. The duration of projects is 36 months.

Applications for funding may be submitted from 17 September 2026 (10:00:00 CEST) until 17 December 2026 (15:00:00 CET) via the LSI system.

Detailed information, including application rules, is available on the website.
