We have implemented a change in booking appointments for submitting visa applications for studies. The new way of booking dates has been applied since February 2024.

From June 11, 2024, a new fee for a Schengen visa will apply.

Ceremonial ending of the 2023/24 school year at the Polish School by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria took place on June 2, 2024. School principal Lidia Moń welcomed the gathered guests and summarized the past school year.

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria kindly informs that as of 1st of June, 2024, there is a change in the fee for accepting and examining an application for a national visa (type D) and for accepting and considering an application for reconsideration of an application for a national visa (appeal). This fee is effective from June 1 this year and will be 135 EUR, payable in ZAR: R2747, cash only.

The Holocaust and Genocide Centre in Cape Town organised a webinar entitled “Promised Lands. Jews, Poland and the Land of Israel”. The event was devoted to the latest volume of the English-language academic publication: POLIN. Studies in Polish Jewry, the subject of which this time (this is the 35th volume of this publication) are the relations between Poland and Polish Jews and the land of Israel (before 1948) and Israel (after 1948).

Europe Day - a celebration of peace and unity - is celebrated every year in South Africa by the Member States of the European Union and the EU Delegation in Pretoria. The holiday commemorates the anniversary of the historic Schuman Declaration in 1950, in which French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman presented his vision of a new form of political cooperation in Europe that would make war between European nations unthinkable. The Schuman Plan is considered to be the nucleus of what the European Union is today.

This year, ceremonial celebrations of the 3 May Constitution Day, Polish National Flag Day and Polish Diaspora Day took place in a number of towns in South Africa.

The annual Polish Sports Day took place at the Lynwood Tennis Club in Pretoria on May 5, 2024. The meeting was opened by Robert Rusiecki, Consul of the Republic of Poland, who gave an introductory speech and wished all participants a nice time. The event participants listened to the Polish national anthem.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland organized on May 4, 2024, a screening of a Polish film titled "About the dog that travelled by train" directed by Magdalena Nieć in Cape Town.
