Poland in South Africa

On 12 March 1999, a free and democratic Poland joined the North Atlantic Alliance. On that date, NATO opened its ranks to three former Warsaw Pact members: Poland, Czechia, and Hungary.

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria kindly informs about the consular duty in Cape Town, which will take place from April 5, 2024 to April 8, 2024.

A special screening of the documentary film "20 Days in Mariupol" took place on February 28, 2024 in Pretoria. The event was organized by the Embassies of Ukraine and the USA, in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union in Pretoria and the Embassies of: Finland, France, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Ambassador Adam Burakowski presented his credentials to President Mokgweetsi Masisi in the Republic of Botswana. The ceremony with the participation of the Honour Guard took place at the Presidential Palace in Gaborone on February 13, 2024.

Ambassador Adam Burakowski participated in the European Union-Zambia Partnership Dialogue, which took place on January 23, 2024 in Lusaka.

On December 4, 2023 the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria organized a Christmas concert performed by the outstanding South African ensemble "Charl du Plessis Trio". The concert was intended to commemorate the 105th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence, as well as to celebrate Foreign Service Day. The event was attended by representatives of South African government institutions, the diplomatic corps, the press, think-tanks, academic, business and artistic circles, as well as Polish diaspora.
