Poland in Sweden

On the occasion of Easter, we extend our sincere wishes of peace, good health, and every success.

On 27 March, a seminar entitled "Advancing a Sustainable Baltic Sea through Regional Cooperation. PL-SE Case by Race for the Baltic” was held at the headquarters of the Council of the Baltic Sea States in Stockholm. The event was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm in cooperation with the CBSS Secretariat and the Race for the Baltic foundation.

On 19 March 2026, a working seminar on Polish-Swedish trade relations was held at the Riksdag, with participants including Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska.

On 10-12 March, a state visit to Poland by Their Majesties the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf, and Queen Queen Silvia of Sweden took place in Warsaw and Gdańsk. The Royal Couple was accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard, Minister for Culture Parisa Liljestrand, Minister for Defence Pål Jonson, Minister for Civil Defence Carl-Oskar Bohlin, and State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Diana Janse.

On 13 March, Deputy Minister - Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defence, Mr. Paweł Zalewski, together with a delegation from the Polish Armed Forces, conducted a working visit to Stockholm.

On 6 March, representatives of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk visited the Vrak Museum in Stockholm, continuing the fruitful cooperation initiated in 2025 during a visit by a Swedish delegation to Gdańsk. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen relations between Polish and Swedish institutions working on maritime history and cultural heritage, within the framework of implementing the Polish-Swedish strategic partnership.

On 3 March 2026, a high-level meeting on cooperation among countries in the Baltic Sea region in the field of civil protection and the capacity to respond to uncontrolled population movements was held in Stockholm. The meeting was organized by the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency and gathered representatives of the European Union and NATO.

On 25 February, Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska visited the Stockholm School of Economics (Handelshögskolan) to meet with students interested in careers in diplomacy and current bilateral relations between Poland and Sweden. The lunch lecture brought together nearly 50 participants representing various fields of study at SSE. The event was organised as part of International Week (February 23-27) at the invitation of the student association SASSE.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm, Karolina Ostrzyniewska, attended the opening of the Queens exhibition at Uppsala Castle, dedicated to Barbara Radziwiłł (1522-1551), Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania, and Catherine Jagiellon (1526-1583), Queen of Sweden.

Maja Lundbäck, State Secretary at the Swedish Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, was the special guest at a working breakfast organised by the Polish Embassy on 12 February as part of Poland's presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS).
