08.01.2024The Ministry of Climate and Environment is limiting the logging foreseen for 2024 in Poland's most important forests. The protection of valuable primaeval forests, the preservation of woods used by agglomerations of many thousands of people, spa forests and the scarcity of forestry districts are the main reasons for the reduction in logging. Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced the details of the decision at a press conference held on 8 January 2024 in Warsaw.

The session took place on 19 December 2023 in Brussels. During the meeting, EU Ministers responsible for energy issues reached a political agreement on the extension of the three emergency Council regulations adopted in December 2022.
