14.12.2025Thanks to support amounting to nearly PLN 264 million, new local renewable energy sources, energy storage facilities and umbrella projects for residents will be created throughout Poland. On 11 December 2025, the Ministry of Climate and Environment concluded eight more agreements with energy clusters. The total electricity and heat generation capacity of the subsidised projects will exceed 40 MW, and the storage capacity will exceed 47 MWh.

08.12.2025Today in Poznań, Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced the start of the Animal of the Year 2026 Poll during a conference at the University of Life Sciences. This is a unique initiative by the Ministry of Climate and Environment, aimed at drawing attention to the protection of biodiversity - a response to the global crisis in which the average size of monitored wild animal populations has fallen by 73% over the last 50 years.

05.12.2025On 3 December 2025, the 3rd Polish-German Energy Transition Forum was held in Warsaw, inaugurated by a speech given by Minister Krzysztof Bolesta. During the meeting, the common interests of Poland and Germany were discussed and the openness of both sides to cooperation in the field of climate transformation was emphasised. Minister Bolesta pointed out that the success of the transformation depends on access to European clean technologies and strategic raw materials.

04.12.2025On 25 November, Warsaw hosted the first edition of BioDezinfoLAB, an initiative of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, which brought together over 100 representatives of public administration, nature conservation institutions, State Forests, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, non-governmental organisations, academic communities and the media. The meeting was dedicated to strengthening competences and cooperation in counteracting disinformation in the field of biodiversity, and its main goal was to exchange experiences, network and improve the skills of recognising and neutralising false narratives in professional practice.

03.12.2025Poland, thanks to over 100 years of experience of the state geological service in conducting research, is now sharing its knowledge with partners in Uganda and Rwanda. Deputy Minister Krzysztof Galos, the country's chief geologist, participated in the Polish-Ugandan Mining Sector Conference and Business Forum and the official launch of the PanAfGeo+ Country Window Rwanda project, attended by representatives of the Rwandan geological administration, the European Union and European geological services.

27.11.2025Poland and Norway are strengthening their cooperation. A Polish delegation led by Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska held talks with Norwegian ministers of climate and environment and energy, as well as with representatives of entities implementing breakthrough technologies related to carbon capture and storage (CCUS) as an important element of the decarbonisation process.

26.11.2025The draft bill sets a spending limit for the next 10 years, which will allow for the continued implementation of provisions on access to genetic resources and the sharing of benefits from their use. The secured funding will enable the continued operation of the control and reporting system for users of these resources, as required by EU regulations. These solutions guarantee the legal and fair use of plant, animal and microorganism resources, in accordance with the Nagoya Protocol.
