Contribution of the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate experts to the success of the pharmaceutical package EU negotiations
06.06.2025
Experts from the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate played an active role in successful negotiations on the shape of the pharmaceutical package. CPI representatives fully supported the work conducted under the Polish Presidency for a fairer and more competitive EU pharmaceutical sector. During the working group meetings, a compromise was jointly developed that was beneficial to patients, supported European manufacturers of medicines and active substances, and reduced administrative burdens.
CPI experts were particularly involved in developing regulations ensuring continuity of supply and monitoring the availability of medicines. They also participated in shaping solutions for effective pharmaceutical supervision over the production, wholesale trade and quality of medicinal products - including the production of active substances and finished medicines in third countries.
CPI specialists also participated in creating a legal framework for a decentralized production model and regulations on medicines for specific patient needs. The aim of these activities was to improve access to innovative, targeted therapies and medicines - also in crisis situations.
Warm congratulations are due to all participants in the negotiation process!
