Celebration of National Pharmacist Day
08.10.2025
On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector Łukasz Pietrzak and Director of the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate Office Olga Sierpniowska took part in the National Pharmacist Day celebrations organized by the Supreme Pharmaceutical Chamber.
“We sometimes forget that we possess exceptional knowledge, and that the unique skills and support provided by pharmacists can lead to better therapeutic outcomes for patients and tangible benefits for society as a whole. There is no future for medicine without pharmaceutical care,” emphasized Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector Łukasz Pietrzak in his speech.
The event was an opportunity to exchange experiences and reflect together on the future of pharmacy in Poland and across Europe.
During the ceremony, state and local government awards were presented. Among the honorees was Olga Sierpniowska, Director of the CPI Office, who received the Professor Bronisław Koskowski Medal.
This distinction – one of the highest honors awarded by the pharmacy self-government – recognizes outstanding contributions to the prestige, advancement, and development of the pharmacy profession.
Professor Bronisław Koskowski (1863–1946) was a social activist, pharmacist, and pioneer of pharmaceutical education in Warsaw. During the German occupation, he co-organized and conducted clandestine pharmaceutical studies. In 1945, he became President of the Supreme Pharmaceutical Chamber.
