CPI's representative at the meeting of heads of national drug law enforcement agencies at the UN
Piotr Michalski of the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate represented Poland at the 16th meeting of the Heads of National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies (HONLEA) at the United Nations.
The event, focusing on drug law enforcement, was organised on 28-31 October 2025 by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the global drug trafficking situation as well as the ongoing regional and sub-regional cooperation in South-Eastern and Eastern Europe. One of the key topics on the agenda was countering the recruitment by criminal groups and the use of children and young people in drug-related crime.
The use of modern technology to monitor drug trends and reduce illegal drug cultivation, production, trafficking and transport was also discussed during the meeting. In addition, the Commission dealt with the international cooperation plan for an integrated and balanced strategy to counter the global drug problem.
