Processing of personal data by the GDOŚ

Personal data protection is a priority of the General Director for Environmental Protection. Personal data on the websites of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

GDPR

Since 25 May 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (referred to as “GDPR”) has been in force. The GDPR applies to the same extent in all European Union countries, including Poland, and has introduced a number of changes in the rules governing the processing of personal data, that will affect many areas of life, including the use of the websites of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection.
We would like to present to you the issues related to the processing of personal data of individuals visiting the websites of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection.

What is personal data?

Pursuant to the GDPR, personal data is information about an identified or identifiable natural person. When using our websites, such data includes, for example, an e-mail address, IP address or data contained in the name of an e-mail account or in other service offered by the General Directorate for Environmental Protection. Personal data may be saved in cookie files or similar technologies (e.g. local storage) installed in the ICT systems of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection, accompanying the use of our services. The above-mentioned technologies are used in our websites and applications to collect and process personal data.

Consent

Please be advised that we process, as a controller, personal data of users of our websites based on their consent.

Such (voluntary) consent is necessary to be able to browse the resources of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection. If you do not agree to the technologies used, please close the website and delete cookies from your device.

The grounds and purpose of processing

The GDPR provides for several types of legal grounds for data processing. Your personal data will be processed upon your consent to the processing of personal data, referred to in Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, in order to fulfil the legal obligation imposed on the controller pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR or perform a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller, pursuant to Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR.

Duration of personal data processing

The duration of the period for which we will process your personal data depends on the legal grounds constituting the legal requirement for personal data processing by the GDOŚ. We will never process personal data for a period longer than required by legal provisions. Your data will always be processed for the period necessary to accomplish the purpose of processing, including the archiving obligation provided for in legal provisions.

Your rights

Pursuant to the GDPR, you have the following rights related to the processing of your personal data on our websites:

  • the right to request from the controller access to your personal data,
  • the right to request from the controller rectification of your personal data,
  • the right to request from the controller erasure of your personal data,
  • the right to request from the controller restriction of processing of your personal data,
  • the right to object to the processing of your personal data,
  • the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

Data transfer and profiling

Data may be transferred to other public authorities, provided that:

  • they are authorized to that under applicable regulations,
  • they comply with a legal obligation to which the personal data controller is subject,
  • processing is necessary to perform a task carried out in the public interest,
  • processing is necessary in the exercise of official authority vested in the personal data controller.

The transfer of data does not release the transferor from responsibility for its processing. Your data will not be transferred to third countries.

Data collected through the websites of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection is not and will not be profiled.

Amendments to this Privacy Policy

We undertake to review the Privacy Policy on a regular basis and to amend it whenever it is necessary due to amendments to law or jurisprudence of courts or authorities supervising personal data processing and protection.

We also reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy in the event of changes to the technology we use to process personal data (if the change affects the wording of this document), as well as in case of changes in the purposes or legal grounds for processing personal data by us.
