Visit in the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Secondary School in Radzymin

The oldest secondary school in the Wołomin poviat has had numerous successes and received a number of awards and titles. Some of the most important ones include "School with Tradition" of the Minister of National Education, "School of MINI Mathematics Academy" of Warsaw University of Technology, and "School of Dialogue" of the American foundation Facing History and Ourselves.

A rich curriculum enables the cultivation of the values permanently inscribed in the work of its patron.

"His life's work is the best investment one can imagine - also in contemporary thought, Christian faith, Polish tradition and culture. For me, he was and is a bridge to the present and even to the future," concluded the Prime Minister during a meeting with students.

On 24 September 2021, the 200th anniversary of the poet's birth, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the commencement of competitions relating to the work of our outstanding compatriot. 

If you love history, art, have a keen sense of inquiry, and are willing to take on the gauntlet of tackling the poet's challenging work and diving into the meanders of philosophical musings, we invite you to enter the competitions. You cannot miss it! All competitions are held under the Honorary Patronage of Prime Minister Morawiecki. Feel free to join!

Which competition is for you?

 "For beauty exists to delight... everything there is to know about the life and work of Cyprian Kamil Norwid”

• The competition is addressed to students of public and non-public secondary schools.
• The task of the participants of the Competition is to prepare an educational project with elements of a research paper presenting the life and works of the poet with the use of the e-materials creator available in the student account on the Integrated Educational Platform at www.zpe.gov.pl.

 „Project: Norwid”

• A competition for the graphic design of a T-shirt promoting the life and work of Norwid, addressed directly to children and teenagers living abroad, aged 6-19. Participants will be divided into three age categories (6-10 years old, 11-14 years old, 15-19 years old). Projects will be submitted via the registration form available at www.norwid.pol.org.pl.
• Quiz on the knowledge about Cyprian Kamil Norwid for children and adolescents conducted online,
• Online training for teachers of Polish schools abroad, i.e. lesson scenarios about the poet to be presented during lessons in lower and higher classes and two webinars on how to conduct these scenarios, as well as provision of promotional kits about Norwid to the 50 largest Polish schools abroad.

Competition for the best book publications on Norwid.

• The competition is open. Publications published in Polish in the years 2016-2021 may be submitted to the competition. Works may be submitted by the author, the editor (in the case of a collective publication) or another person after obtaining the written consent of the author or editor.

 National Art  Competition entitled "A box called imagination-Cyprian Kamil Norwid"

• The competition is addressed to students of all art schools in Poland.
• Students will be asked to creatively interpret a selected work of the poet in the form of: 1 - painting, collage, mixed techniques; 2 - drawing, graphics; 3 - small sculpture form, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the artist's birth.
